Jagityal Jagtial Municipality was constituted in the year 1952 as 3^rd grade Municipality and upgraded to Grade-II by the Government vide G.O.Ms.No.242 M.A., Dated: 2-5-1984 and further upgraded to Grade-I municipality by the Government vide GO Ms. No. 728, Dt: 22.12.2009.

Jagtial town is located at 180 48’ north latitude and 780-54 of eastern longitude in the northern part of Karimnagar district head quarter. It is one of the most important town in the Karimnagar district having 24 mandals.
